This is a must for me. I have a spiral notebook by my shopping list and every Sunday I write out the days of the week and then menu plan for dinner. The key for me is to do it early in the week and then food shop accordingly.

Another big factor is to make sure the meals are fairly straightforward. I made a turkey pot pie a few weeks ago and was not happy when I realized the meal was going to take far longer then I wanted it to. By the time dinner rolled around I was so grumpy about making the meal we didn't really enjoy it as much. Keep it simple!

Thanks for the great tips!
